Dr Choene's research interest is in the identification of South African medicinal plants in the quest to developing novel cancer therapeutics. Natural products have been playing a significant role in drug discovery as a source of potential cytotoxic agents. Our research involves the identification, isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds from natural compounds and the elucidation of their anticancer mechanism.
