Caroline is a PhD candidate and a full-time Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg. She is a qualified Geologist with experience in mineral exploration and mining. Before returning to the department to pursue her MSc in 2015, Caroline worked for The MSA Group, Palabora Copper and Village Main Reef. Her PhD research project focuses on the assessment of the UG2 Reef’s split facies (at Booysendal Mine), by investigating the geological and mineralogical variations and how these aspects influence recovery of the PGEs during downstream processing.
