Research Assistant/ PhD Student Lucia Olifant is a research assistant and PhD candidate within the SAMRC/UJ Pan African Centre for Epidemics Research (PACER) Extramural Unit in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Tertiary qualifications obtained by Ms Olifant include BA in Health Sciences, BA Honours in Psychology and MSc in Transdisciplinary Health Promotion. For the past four years, she has been involved in Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) study as a (data collector, capturer, and fieldworkers’ coordinator) at the Africa Unit for Transdisciplinary Health Research (AUTHeR). Between 2021 – 2022 she was privileged to participate in a Community Engagement Internship where she acquired extensive experience in stakeholder management.
