He worked as a chief industrial technician in the South African Navy (Naval Engineering Services) for two years. He assumed a position as a project manager in the automotive industry executing energy efficiency/optimization projects in the sector for nine years. His primary research areas are Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Fluids Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows, Microfluidics, Molecular Dynamics (MD), Multiphase flow and energy efficiency/optimization. He is affiliated as a candidate technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is also a Junior Associate with the National Institute for Theoretical and Computational Sciences (NITheCS) the Data Sciences category.
