Humanities Academic Career Profile Mr. Christian Kayembe is a PhD candidate at the School of Public Management, Governance, and Public Policy at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Johannesburg in Public Management and Governance. His Master’s research focused on the role of urban regeneration to improve community development in a Metropolitan municipality. Mr. Kayembe is the founder and current director of Classroom Buddies Organisation (CBO), a non-profit organization within the educational sector. He has been nominated for various youth awards such as Contiki’s Second Annual Changemakers 35 Under 35 awards, Powered by Six-Two. Throughout his tenure as the director of CBO, he has worked with various individuals, companies, and volunteers in delivering educational projects to those in need. Mr. Kayembe has represented the University of Johannesburg at various conferences and summits Universitas 21 at the University of Glasgow; Washington Summer Institute at George Mason University as well as the 9th University Scholars Leadership Symposium hosted by the Asian Humanitarian Affairs in partnership with the UN, which was held in Thailand. Before his current post, Mr. Kayembe worked in the School of Public Management, Governance, and Public Policy in various roles, such as head tutor and administrator.
