Prof Khaled Aboalez

Overview

Academic Profile Prof. Khaled Aboalez is an Associate Professor in the Postgraduate School of Engineering Management at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) since March 2024.He is an NRF-C3-rated researcher since January 2020. He received his Ph.D. degree from Mansoura University, Egypt in 2011. He was a post-doc fellow at the National Hub for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management and the Centre of New Energy Systems (CNES) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (Mar. 2012 - Feb. 2013). He was also a post-doc fellow at the Centre for Substation Automation and Energy Management Systems (CSAEMS), Cape peninsula university of Technology (CPUT), South Africa (Mar. 2015 - Oct. 2016). He was a senior lecturer at CPUT in the period January 2017- Sept. 2021. In the period from October 2021- February 2024, he was an Associate Professor of Electrical Power Systems and the head of the Centre for Research in Power Systems at CPUT. Qualification(s) BSc Hons (Electrical power and machines engineering) (2000), MSc (Electrical power systems) (2003), and PhD in Electrical Engineering (2011), all from the faculty of Engineering - Mansoura University, Egypt.
