Dr. Patrick Ehi Imoisili

Overview

Biography Dr Patrick joined the University of Johannesburg as a Postdoctoral research fellow (PDRF) in January 2020 and became a senior postdoctoral fellow (SPDRF) in 2023. From 1st June 2024, he was appointed a Senior lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Science Department, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Johannesburg. He received his Doctoral degree from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. He is a 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution) Nanotechnology expert with the JENANO Research Group. Patrick, is currently the Head of the Smart Materials sub-research group and the Lead experimentalist at the Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) facility, which is currently the first in Africa. He was awarded “OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC CITIZENSHIP” by the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2020 as the best PDRF from Mechanical Engineering Science/Faculty of Engineering, First prize winner in the PDRF category 2022 UJ PG School Conference among other outstanding awards. He has over 14 years of experience as a research scientist. He is a registered member of the South Africa Council for Natural Scientific Professionals (SACNASP), South African Chemical Institute (SACI), Institute of Charted Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Polymer Institute of Nigeria (PIN), and the Materials Research Society of Nigeria (MSN). He has supervised postgraduate students at both Doctoral and master's levels. He has also published over 60 peer-reviewed articles, including book chapters.
