Christina Amsterdam serves as senior lecturer in the Department of Education Leadership and Management in the Faculty of Education at the University of Johannesburg. She has more than 20 years of experience in Higher Education, facilitating a variety of research methodology, education policy and school leadership modules; conducting and supervising educational research and reviewing proposals, manuscripts and applications for scholarly journals, the NRF, WERA and the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. She also developed or revised institutional policies, processes and procedures in higher education institutions in the USA and South Africa. Prior to joining UJ, she guided three Ph.D. - and five M.Ed. candidates to successful completion of their research projects and since joining UJ in June 2023, she successfully guided the research projects of two M.Ed. and two B.Ed. Honours candidates to completion. She has presented her research at international and local conferences and published in local and international journals. Research interests: School leadership (various aspects); educator well-being, school infrastructure, resources and equity; SDG 4 as it relates to school leadership.
