About Ms Kgothatso Lephoko Qualifications: MFA Products of Design (School of Visual Arts, USA); BA Honours (Design) (University of Johannesburg); BA (Communication Design)(Open Window) Designation: Senior Lecturer Kgothatso has over 10 years of industry experience and believes that well-designed technology can enhance the quality and experience of people’s lives, as well as advance economies and society. With the increased adoption of digital technologies in every area of life, she contributes to educating and developing the next generation of thoughtful, skilled, empathetic and ethical designers. Her primary areas of interest and teaching are interaction design, experience design, design thinking, design research and design in business contexts. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Digital Transformation at the Johannesburg Business School, where her research focusses on digital customer experience. Her prior industry experience includes consulting as a design lead at Absa Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) through Spot On Consulting. As a member of results-driven, cross-functional, and agile teams, she has designed omni-channel experiences, such as websites and native apps (iOS, OS X & Android), for companies such as Discovery Limited, M-Net, and Standard Bank South Africa (SBSA). Her key design contributions to South Africa’s banking sector include playing a significant role in creating a more secure, multi-channel sign-in customer experience at SBSA and leading the digitalisation of a cheque account opening process at Absa CIB.
