Biography Amelia Mtshali is a senior manager responsible for Technical Faculty which focuses of closing technical skills learning and development (Artisans, Engineering including renewable energy programmes to support the JET strategy, Operating, Operations, Maintenance and Outages) She is a registered Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) where she previously served a council and committee member and currently serving as a Biennial Engineering Symposium Advisory Board member. She started her career in Eskom in September 1999 as a trainee technician and has over 20 years’ experience holding various positions in Transmission (now called NTCSA), Group Technology and Distribution Divisions. Amelia is passionate about skills development, mentorship and coaching and has been involved in mentoring young engineering professionals within the energy industry. She currently serve as the chairperson of the Council for the Built Environment (CBE) and a council member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) where she contributes immensely to the engineering fraternity. She was involved in mentoring young women at University of Johannesburg under the Society of Women in Engineering & Technology (SWiET) programme. She is a co-founder of the Pfuxani STEM Foundation NPC which was established in 2016 to assist high school learners by offering tutoring lessons on STEM subjects during weekends.
