Nazeerah is a Research Assistant at the CSDA, currently working on projects focused on youth mental health. She holds a Master’s degree in Research Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, where her dissertation examined the Differential Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Adults with ADHD. Her Honours research focused on the Psychological Effects of Mercury Exposure in Children, which sparked her interest in the intersection of mental health, socioeconomic status, and environmental justice. Nazeerah's experiences, having witnessed these challenges, have entrenched her passion for social justice, youth empowerment, and using research to address systemic inequalities in South Africa and the Global South. She is also pursuing her PhD in Psychology at the Unversity of Johannesburg this year
